ONTARIO COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dozens of animals were killed in a house fire in Ontario County. It happened late Monday night in the Town of Canandaigua.

Deputies tells us 26 pets, including seven adult dogs, 12 puppies and seven cats, died in the fire, though 10 pets were rescued.

The homeowner and her fiancé were able to escape the flames, but they were certainly devastated by the loss.

Two fire fighters were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.
