SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Two Syracuse police officers were involved in a crash Monday while heading to a call. Around 4:15 p.m. on Monday, two officers were riding together in a police cruiser, responding to a complaint of an armed suicidal person on Herbst Avenue.

The officers were on Teall Avenue when a Dodge van drove into the path of the cruiser, hitting the police car. The driver of the van was not hurt. The two officers were not hurt either, but taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

No tickets were issued in the crash.

The complaint that the officers were originally responding to ended without incident.
