POTSDAM, N.Y. -- A message of peace and civility. That's what Clarkson University hopes students take from Professor Arthur Romano on Martin Luther King Day.

Romano teaches at George Mason University and has worked with people in over 50 countries helping with community efforts that promote peace.

He gave two talks at Clarkson Monday hoping to give students concrete ways to combat violence. The professor says MLK's lasting message still holds today.

"Martin Luther King gave us a great example of creating conversations on a national or even international stage that in some ways many people were avoiding having," said Romano.

Romano says that college campuses provide an ideal place for difficult conversations, where people are able to expand their mind and hear other points of view. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
