POTSDAM, N.Y. -- Students are making their way back to college across the North Country and at SUNY Potsdam those students are one of the most diverse group in the school's history.
School officials say roughly a third of incoming freshman are students of color.
They say a such a diverse student body adds to the college experience by learning about and interacting with other cultures, whether it be from different parts of the state, country, or even the world.
"International is an important part of student diversity," VP for Enrollment Management and Institutional Effectiveness Rick Miller said. "It brings a dimension to the campus that other students really enjoy, adding to those kinds of cultural exchanges and experiences."
